Background and approach

IMG_5193.jpg

Having moved around a lot as a child and been to seven different schools, I am interested in helping others who feel, or have felt like outsiders - whether they've stood still or physically moved around. I am also interested in how disruptive and dysfunctional households may play out in our relationships with ourselves and others. My own personal experience of therapy continuously helps me to find home and peace within myself, and I hope that our work together will also bring you closer to self-acceptance so you can live a life that is yours.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, which means I draw on a few theories in my therapeutic practice. These include Psychodynamic, Existentialism and Person-centered approaches. How might our past be affecting the present? What patterns are playing out? And how can we make choices in alignment with our authentic selves - in essence, who am I? I use these theories in a relational way, meaning I pay attention to what is going on between us in the room as a reflection of what is happening for you in your life.
